I think it's because they have more in common with us. They are thrill seekers as well. At least that's why I find them more attractive.

Surfing girls tend not to be buckets of lard.

Except for some of the longboarding ones of course.

They dress up in rubber and are desensitised to salty liquid coming out of their noses.

Hello! Well i guess im a wannabee.. i want to learn to surf this summer.
And to answer your question.. i guess it's a power thing,a confidence females exude. Same with girl skaters and snowboarders.
As fro the rubber, being held down and salty liquid comments, im going to pretend i didnt read that!

When I went out the other week, 2 girls paddled out near us on longboards. They were very attractive and I thought.......... "here we go, a chance to show off my skills!"

Then the dark haired one starts to paddle and I can't even see a wave. Suddenly this set appears from nowhere, she pops up, charges onto the face, walks down the board, gets 10 toes over, walks back, cuts back and rides off in the other direction.

After that I kept my skills firmly to myself!!!

We were talking about lines I should have used, I came up with this:

"Hey, you're having a good day, you always seem to be in the right place, are you a local?"
"Yes" (she definitely was)
"Excellent, have you got a hot shower I can use, cos my nuts have disappeared!"

My brother in law suggested paddling over and saying "excuse me, I've dropped my keys somewhere around here, you haven't seen them have you?"

Tee hee

My wife surfed a few times with me while we dated (after the ring was on her finger she stopped and never did it again LOL). I was totally stoked, it's a guy thing, everyone wishes their girl surfed, so we totally dig it when a chick surfs and so it makes her hot that she surf. simple!

my wife got a trophy in a surf comp once, she's real proud of it :D

My kids are just learning to surf too, and it's pretty cool all paddling out together, but one of my fondest memories is talking my other half into dropping into a macca wave in hossegor once, she got sooo nailed, it was damn funny till she got her breath back and laid into me :D

I've heard some guys say that surfing is their escape, their me-time, their 'thing', and they don't want to paddle out with a girlfriend cos they might have to worry about her if the waves are a bit heavy, or go in when she wants to, or wait for her or whatever. I can see this point of view, but I guess it's just a matter of balance, everyone needs a bit of time apart. Anyone not wanted to own up to this yet?!

Maybe some of 'em are worried she'll show them up by ripping

It's nice to see guys saying they do like surfer girls! You certainly get checked out more as a girl, but sometimes I just think it's 'uhoh better stay away from her she might land on me' heehee - hey, i know the rules too ;-)

Also heard guys saying surfer girls get a bit butch looking - guess they mean the paddling muscles, well I for one don't care and you can have an arm wrestle too if you wanna!!

Mel, no, not really, I just thought it was funny!

I respect anyone who surfs, guy or girl. I would like to have a girlfriend/ wife who surfs, my wife is afraid. I get to have my 'me-time' but sometimes it would be nice to share the experience.
