Very small surf break for surfers. For Paddle surfers can be good. At Goulds Inlet 1 hour before high tide to 1 hour after. Best with a light west wind and offshore storm of any kind make it well worth the trip. During these times its 2-4 and relatively clean. Best during hurricane season with a hurricane or strong low pressure system close by off the Georgia coast. The ocean shelf is so shallow for so long that it makes Georgia a bad surfing location. I surf here out of desperation. It does get ridable when the bouys are reading over 3.5 and 9 seconds wave period of bigger.
Some sharks, so keep a lookout.
Turn off of I-95 in Brunswick Ga. Head for the coast via hwy 17. Get on the FJ Torras Causeway that goes across the intercoastal waterway. Once your on the island you'll go right on Kings Way for about a block, stay in the far left lane and turn onto Sea Island Rd. After another block turn right at the first light onto Demere Rd. You'll stay on that road for a few miles, pass the airport and look for a road on the left called E. Beach Causeway. Turn left onto it and it will dead end right at the old Coast Guard Station. Turn north at the stop sign before the parking lot and go to the end of the road to Goulds Inlet. This is a consistent Paddleboard break 1 hour before high tide and to 1 hour after.
King and Prince Hotel is on the beach, very nice, but it is expensive. Lots of hotels in the area and in Brunswick.
No cost for parking, but they will tow cars for parking on the street-especially out of towners. The park by the Coast Guard Station has bathrooms, showers, and is very family friendly. Beach is great for the family
Paddle & Putt in Redfern Village on Frederica Rd just past the airport.
Paddle & Putt has a great staff, rentals, and lessons. Jlay is the bomb.
Lots of fun things to do in Redfern Village and all over the island.
