1) How much 'extra protection' will a board sock serve when flying?
2) My board is 6'7", do I get a 6'6" because it stretches or do I get a 7'6" or somewhere in between?

When flying, are you gonna stash it in the coat closet or are you gonna check it? If you're checking it, then I would STRONGLY suggest a flight case. Don't know where you buy them or how much though, suppose google would tell, but I've got exam studying to do here.
