hooded rash vest

Hi, I found a long sleeved thermal hooded rash vest. Just wondered if anyone had tried one or if it's a false economy.
Not sure if the attached hood means less water gets in or just gets in way!?
And is long sleeve just a nuisance or a lovely warmth?

My friend has one of these and says they're great!! Well worth the investment apparently.

Cant find any for females so Im thinking of just getting a small mens one.

Oh that's great. To be honest I'm a bit of a wimp in the cold so it'sll give me an excuse to have a hood on before everyone else!

doesnt look like they have any smalls though for us women

Email them cos I e-mailed them asking what size I'd need and they suggested small so they must have them? I haven't ordered mine yet cos bit skint at minute cos my car died but planning to buy one. Spoken to a few people since and they seem to love them!

I'm confused - would you wear this and just trunks?

What's the point? I mean, if you have a (full) suit with a hood, why also have a hood on the rash guard? I mean, the primary reason for the guard is to prevent rashes.. I guess if you're bald, it might make some sense, but otherwise, I'm at a loss of the usefulness. If a 3/2 isn't keeping you warm, go to a 4/3 or 5/4 full suit.

because a normal 5/4 doesnt have a hood, and it does get cold enough here to need one in the very coldest days, but not enough to warrant spending money on a whole other winter suit just to have an attached hood.
having a hooded rashie and a normal rashie gives you the flexibility of wearing a hood or not at all, and being able to slip the hood off once you get out without losing it.
