what are the names of the other tricks? i've seen quite a few of them in surfing competition videos, but don't actually know what they're called...

i wonder which one is the hardest to execute?

roundhouse cutbacks, backside airs, frontside airs, frontside carving 360, frontside and backside floater, frontside roundhouse, frontside off the lip, frontside snap, those kinda things, type em in google images or summat 2 c what there like! peace x

As you take off on a 10 foot late take off, put your glasses on and have a read. As you scream down the wall, carefully follow each step of the how to bottom turn article, and execute each step of the manouver as per it is explained. This is a fun way to learn. ...

I read a review of a surf school somewhere recently (i'm still not doing well on the remembering where!) that, when working with students one-to-one, have what I thought was a pretty good training tool....when you're working on one particular thing (eg pop-up, or bottom turns etc) they will write a reminder on a strip of masking tape and stick it on your board right under where your face will be when you're paddling....so it's the last thing you see before you take off. Obvioulsly everyone learns differently but I think that's something that would suit me, and I may even try it next time i'm out!

Yes I know that surf school. It's called Mary's Masking Tape Surf School.
The latest teaching technique is instead of sticking the masking tape reminder on the board, they slap it straight on the student's forehead. you know like those yellow labels ?
There's another Surf School in Rawanda that uses hot pokers to jolt thier students out of complacency. ...keeps 'em on the ball.
