Beginner in need of some help:)

hi there im a beginner and lookin 2 find a second hand surfboard....
im 1.68m and 58kg....any advice???or wea i could find a 2nd hand 1????

im just in a bit of dilema...im just begining to learn to surf...had my 1st lesson the otha day it was wicked...anyways i wana get a board...

i know mini mals are the best board for beginners but i prefer short boards...ive found a good 2nd hand on e...only used twice itss dimensions are:

Swallow tail thruster with FCS fins, a nose cone and Balin leash fitted
19 inches wide at its widest point and 2 and a half inches thick at thickest part

im 1.68 m in height and 57kg in weight
would i be makin a big mistake in gettin a thruster as a beginner?

I'm a beginner too...I just learned a week ago in Maui ( and loved it!!) and was thinking of getting a second hand board. what size and kind should i get? i'm 5 foot 4 inches and 125 pounds......if that helps any (sorry its not in metric, i'm from the U.S.)

My advice would be to get a Mini-mal, BUT - this is based on UK surf conditions. If you are learning somewhere where the waves have some power (eg. Maui!!) then you can probably get away with a much smaller board for learning.

You may find that you learn less fast, because shortboards are unstable and fast, but you will get there if you keep trying.

In the end it's better to get used to a board than have a different one every time you go!

FCS fins are terrible by the way, good for storage but break easily
