Hi,
I've got a board that has a PU core but I'm not sure what resin what used for fiberglassing.
The board has a hole in the tail now, that needs filling and repairing.
If the board has a PU core but Epoxy resin was used for the fiberglass, can i use a polyester repair kit?
thanks,
Lewis.

If the board definately has a PU core, then you can use either resin, although polyester resin will have probably been used to glass it.
'Epoxy' boards have cores made from EPS, which gives them their extra bouyancy, and polyester resin eats this kind of foam.

it's definitely got a PU core. It's a kiteboard so I'm thinking they may have used epoxy to help toughen it up...

There is nothing that says epoxy won't stick to fiberglass, the concern is simply in board construction. Go ahead and fix it with epoxy, it's not how you are supposed to do it but it should harden and seal no problem, epoxy in it's general form is used for many household repairs.

Well i did the repair last night using a poly repair kit (i had one laying around) and the board was fine. Am going to give it a little more love to neaten it up tonight, but as far as i can tell, it's an okay job.
