Surfing Waves

hey guys,
like most people at some point, ive become bored with most of the music on my ipod and looking for some new bands to check out.

so i was wondering what gets you guys pumped for a surf? whether it be something mellow for cruising or something heavy when the waves are pumping.

Also, what surf movie do you think has an awesome soundtrack? personally i think Taylor Steele's Stranger than Fiction has a pretty cool soundtrack with Van She "Strangers" MGMT "Kids" and PNAU "embrace" i also like some Rise Against, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, In This Moment and Lost Prophets to get me in the mood for a heavier day.

ill listen to pretty much anything, from Heavy metal to acoustic, Trance and House to chillout...you get the idea.... so any suggestions welcome

I like listening to heavy music, that gets me excited an just want to go out and rip, specially some sonogs from system of a down, pantera, metallica, slipknot, etc...

nothing wrong with something heavy before a session, metallica is one of my all time favorite bands and i just love the live album: binge and purge, bit of BYOB by system is definately a good song to get you in the mood to rip! havent listened to too much pantera so ill definately give that a go too, thanks

i guess after surfing your 11ft wooden log, you take your gal to the drive-in in your oldsmobile station wagon or maybe for a malt shake at the local diner before heading home and catching the latest episode of the waltons on your black and white TV....

im looking for new music mate, not something made nearly 50 years ago

I like to listen to bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, WASP, AC/DC, Judas Priest, etc. It's what gets me in the zone! Old school stuff.

a bit of "can i play with madness" when its really heavy does get me going too, can beat some of the old school classics.

Jack Johnson, or some cool Hawaiian music with a Ukulele.

I usually listen to Brudda 'iz (Israel Kamakawiwoʻole) on my short drive to the beach. Once I'm there and getting ready to go out (leaving the truck in 3-4 mins for the walk down) I fire up Dropkick Murphy's "I'm shipping up to Boston" It's kind of my pre-game ritual and some of my friends give me crap about it, but who cares!
