Where are you located? I’m in RI, and that’s EXACTLY what it looked like here today. Really huge, peaky storm swell. Nasty.

The paddle out looks, um, difficult.

I am not sure how difficult it would be getting out there. I would have to scope out the entire place but for now I tentatively would think I would paddle to inside of the rock point on the left and wait for a break in the waves then paddle like crazy . There would be some concern if the current there was going left but most likely it will go the other way. I wouldn't want to get dragged in front of the rocks but how much that would bother me depends on whats to the left. There may be some better way to get out either to the left or right of where the video shows. I doubt that I would try to go out there my very first time out in those conditions

Nope,
I know my ability I'm just too lazy to get out when it is cold. I've surfed once or twice in conditions like that and it wasn't fun. Just catching 1 or 2 waves and I'm pooped. On the other hand if it was 30C + sunny and clear blue sky + water. Then I would be out there having fun.
It's relatively safe, you rarely get thrown onto the rocks due to the current. It only breaks ontop of the rocks when a big set comes in. But getting out would be near impossible. I've surfed smaller than that and the side shore rip is insane.

From the looks of the condition and size of the waves I would deem it about a 6.
Exactly 6 quarts of synthetic engine oil. If I saw that, I probably go home and figure it’s a good time to change the oil in my car, since I ain’t surfing today.
