Buying a soft 9 or 10 ft board....airplane and other things

Facebook marketplace seems to have some....When i travel home on airplane I would have to remove the fins, i hear...Is that difficult? Of course i could just leave a cheap one or resell it but I'd like to keep it, chances are, and transport it home by plane...I'll bring foam and ties to put it on top of the car btw.
