Hi,
I’m thinking to shape a board with my kids and wonder wich size would be great.
They are 8, 10 and 12yo from 30kg to 40kg. And they are beginner.
I found outline and rocker template to make an Egg with those dimensions 6’3" - 20 3/4" - 3 0"
I also would like to put EVA foam on the deck and smooth fins.
What do you think about that dimensions and template in the picture below ?

Looks too flat to me; depends on where you surf but thats suoer flat. FWIW all groms around here ride hp shortboards. If they are in earlier stages of learning they use a larger sized shortboard, and sizing goes down as they improve.

Congrats for making boards for your kids! They must be very happy and proud.

Ypi should match for each kid's age and weight a different board size.

I think these dimensions are pretty solid, especially for the kids just starting out. 6'3" is a good length for beginners since it offers stability but isn’t too big. The 20 3/4" width is also fine, not too narrow, but not too wide.

As for the EVA foam and smooth fins, great idea!:!: EVA will add comfort and grip on the deck. Smooth fins are easier to handle for beginners. A father like that is a treasure! Good luck with the project. Once you’ve finished your project, make sure to share some pictures!
