Travelling up from Sydney towards Cairns, from May 15th. Will be surfing 5 weeks in the area between Sydney and Noosa.
What wetsuit thickness would suffice? I have a 2/2 shorty or a new 2mm sleeveless vest + polypro short.
any aussies here that can chime in?
Would love to surf without a wetsuit for once and just a sleeveless vest...not sure if I will be able to stand the cold tho

You can probably do without a wet suit any where north of Coffs Harbour, to Noosa, depending on the day, often just a rash vest or light top! :lol

Do you think I will be able to make do with a new 2mm sleeveless vest and a warm polypro short in Sydney during mid-may?
I usually surf winter temperatures around 50 degrees

May is a changeable, season in Oz, sea currents effect the surf temperature, but I’ve surfed in rash shirts south of Sydney some Mays .
Trust you luck and your temperature responses!
