Looks great brother. One of these days we need to paddle out together.

I blackened the whole board using an undercoat of black poster paint - same as airbrush paint. Then the decal gets sprayed onto that. Have yet to do any glassing. Yep im up for a paddle out just about any time ill try give you a buzz when i next take a trip up to blacks

The same decal is going on the deck but with a much smaller dragon logo and some lettering.

i have a black board and the only advice i have for you is to wax in the shade...my wax will melt as i'm waxing it if i'm out in the sun.

If you like black then perhaps you might like to try using graphite powder in your resin. Graphite is a very fast bottom finish and has a slightly metallic sheen which looks nice, we used to use it on the bottom, rails and fins, not on the deck though. It's cheap to buy, hard to sand but the result is worth it. Once finished the static electricital charge from the graqphite can be felt at quite a distance, and the finish is definitely faster.

The graphite sanding dust gets eveywhere though so needs to be done away from blanks, glass cloth etc as it will stain it.

yeah, I bet it would be nice in sunny England. Cool water, higher latitude ...

The art work is fierce. I love the street art feel.

I made a black/grey epoxy long ago. Looked awesome before I glassed it. Then every tiny air bubble in the glass stood out like I couldn't have imagined, but still, it didn't look bad. It's hard to get out every bubble working with epoxy resins, especially on the rails. But I was a rather shoddy glasser.

However, the water gets 90F here in the summer and I left it in the bed of a truck on a sunny calm day. When I got back, it looked like a cooked bag of Jiffy-Pop.
