Wetsuit neoprene shorts

Has anybody tried 1 mm or similar wetsuit neoprene shorts? Are there any disadvantages?
Will the combination of a vest and shorts work for 60+ temperature?

These shorts are not neoprene, but I've used them under my wet suit for many years.

It seems similar to regular neoprene:) have you tried them with a jacket or a vest instead of a regular spring suit?

Yes, I suppose the photos used in the O'neill website make the material look like neoprene. I can assure you that it is not neoprene. The fabric is made from very fine thread woven tightly together. In an attempt to better display this, I made my own photo in bright sunlight for you (below).

You asked whether I have tried them with a jacket or a vest instead of a regular spring suit? The answer is, "Yes. But, more usually with a long sleeved, short sleeved, or sleeveless rash guard." I where these shorts as board shorts, swimming suit, and kayak shorts. I'll wear them on extended sailing voyages as my normal attire. They are durable and versatile. I have a 2 mm spring suit that has short arms and short legs. The O'Neill shorts do not provide as much warmth as this spring suit.
