One more question..

I put a topic up earlier about a board I bought, thanks for all the support. I do have one more question though.

I found the shape type and it's a Semi-Gun.. I read those are for big waves, and I live in Jacksonville where we get small-mid sized waves. Should I just ride it out and learn how to master this thing in the small surf or should I sell it and get a fun shape to mess around with? Again it's a 6'10" semigun. I haven't ridden all the board types so I'm just wondering if it's worth owning this or not.

If its a gun, you'll really struggle to learn on it or to surf small waves.

Post up the dimensions (length, width, thickness), and a pic and we'll be able to give you a better idea.

no digi cam. heres the dimensions.

6'10' x 11" x 19" x 13 1/2" x 2 1/2"

My friend was given a similar board (about 1/4 dimension difference in his board than the one I bought) The one I bought was all cleaned up and LOOKED like i could use it, until I got home and put it next to my borrowed board I went crazy because I'd realized I think I'd made a really poor investment... I'm so mad right now. And now I'm $150 short, plus I have to patch the front.

patch the front and you might be able to swing a profit!

to answer your question tho... nothing like the right tool for the job. by the sound of it, you'd be better off with a more wave appropriate board. i'm no great shakes as a surfer but i know some really good surfers who have different boards for different conditions. have a few myself and always have more fun when i bring the right board.

Longboard gun boards are excellent all rounders and are easy to ride

A 6'10" thruster semi gun is not a good board for learning on
