Noob question about fins

Postby gettfo » Sun Apr 13, 2008 9:37 pm

What is the difference between the cheap fins, like the ones that come on the boards, and the $55 one's?

Thanks

Yes, maybe, but not until you're pretty damn good.

Types/shape/size of fin does make a difference to how a board performs, but if you're a newbie, dont worry about it just yet.

Depends, it is not the price that matters, because a $55 fin can be worse to you than a $10 fin. First and foremost you are looking at the area (the size) of the fin. The heavier and more powerfull you are the bigger the fin you would want to get, the smaller you are the smaller the fin. Secound most important is the shape, but that that is to lengthy to type right here. If you want to learn more about fins just check out wikipedia and do some searching on google, this site probably has an article about it to.
