Hey guys, my 9.6 skindog cherry picker snapped in 2, right in the center of the board.

The bottom did not split, but it did open all the way to the nose. The bottom 8s not glued to the foam anymore, just a bit on the nose...

Is this fixable?

Theoretically if you have all the parts you can repair it however to do that board you probably need to remove and replace all the glass that has separated which sounds close to reglassing half the surfboard and repair the break in the blank. I have not tried to fix one like that. I don't know how well it would work to try to glue back down the loose glass but suspect it will make it significantly heavier so probably not a good idea. Unless you want to learn how to fix boards it's probably not worth it.

So... I got it fixed, professionally. They painted it, polished it... It looks really good, they did a terrific job! They put 2 6oz layers in most of the bottom, and ditched the old separated glass.

Unfortunately... As you said, it HEAVY now

It's weighing exactly 10kg (22lb), and I can't really throw it around in choppy surf, but, I was wondering: Is it worth keeping as a noserider? The thing looks pretty solid and stable when walking to the nose.

I surfed it yesterday, and it was a bit big for this kind of board (fast overhead lefts), and I was a bit scared of killing someone in the line-up, as it does not react very quickly.

Thank you for your advice.
