Does anyone know much about these boards? a2zBoardShop.com has a coupon to get these boards for 40% Off at BackcountryOutlet. It ends up being only like $530 with shipping and everything. Is there something wrong with these or are they good?

Yater is a classic board shaper. Dude's been around forever and a week. Surftech is an epoxy board manufacturer. They make a pretty decent epoxy board. The shape is one of Yater's designs, Surftech pays a royalty to Yater for every board they sell.

I got my girlfriend a 9'10" yater tuflite which I have recently been giving a go in all sorts from 2' mush to 6' clean and pumping. I thought it would be a pretend log but I was so wrong. I took out the biters and changed the 8" centre fin for a 10" (i weigh about 190 lbs) and the thing absolutely flies down the line and turns really well.
I guess these surftech types don't need to get idiots to shape for them. I have a McT Razar (sic) in the tuflite and it also flies but I think it is too short for me (only 9-1) and am looking for something in between it and the 9-10. Here on the surfcoast of Oz nearly all the longboards you see in the lineup are 9-0 or 9-1.
Drifting off-topic... Go Yater, they fly!

I waited until it came up on WhiskeyMilitia and got it for $530 shipped. The Yater 9'2" HP is a bit narrower and more gun shaped, but it rides so much better that the older fiberglass longboard I had. Flies down the line and still turns on a dime if I need it do, I'm riding the center fin all the way forward. So far it's seen knee high to overhead surf and seems like it can really get into everything.

^^horses for courses, I had one, a beautiful 9'1 velzy pintail with the wood laminate, rode like crap IMO, have tried a few more, even up to big 10' tankers, and not liked any of them - too stiff, no flex, feel "dead" because of it, and much too light and corky. I guess having surfed so long on EPS boards, that I'm just too used to the way they feel.

I got a 9'0" Yater, took out the bites and it's the bomb!!! Had to get a surftech 8'0" Randy French...It's better still, The things are still like new after riding them for years (the Yater's production number is #10) I figured what the hell and got a Wayne Lynch 6'6" for the quiver, I love them all, I will never ride the fall apart pressure ding foamcore sh*t again.
