The SlideHanger2 comments
We were recently sent some information about caring for a wetsuit from Phil at HangPro. We wrote an article, and then a few days later we received the SlideHanger to take a look at, so here's a review.
The SlideHanger is a hanger that has been manufactured for use with a wetsuit. This hanger is different to a traditional hanger in that the wetsuit is not hung from the shoulders, but looped over and hung from the waist. Hanging a wetsuit in this manner eliminates the damage caused by traditional hangers on wetsuits, where the shoulders can wear over time and be subject to fatigue.
The base of the hanger is thick enough to allow the wetsuit to hand without bunching, and is wide enough to hang the largest of wetsuits. It's also made of tough, recycled material that ensures a long life.
If you wetsuit is stored for long periods, you may currently place it folded in a storage box. This will cause permanent creasing of the neoprene, and can damage the zip. The SlideHangers design makes it ideal for long term storage of a wetsuit.
The hanger is effective, there's no doubt about that. The only question is, would you want to spend the money on what is essentially a clothes hanger? It may well save you money on repairs in the long run though.
Here's a list of it's main points.
- Less stress on neoprene
- Shoulder wear and fatigue is eliminated
- Your wetsuit dries faster
- Wetsuit slides into position easily
- Large enough to hold two wetsuits if required
- Ideal for long term storage
- Made of rugged recycled materials
We are listing the HangPro SlideHanger in our wetsuit accessories pages, and at the time of writing this review there is currently a special on for multiple purchases.

|I use mine every time I use my wetsuit. My summer wetsuit stays on a waist hanger all winter. No more shoulder puffs or delam.|

|I have been using the hanger for about a year. It really works. I keep my heavy winter wetsuit on one all summer. When I got out my winter suit this winter it was sure nice that the shoulders were not damaged. I'm buying another for my summer suit.|
