Day 5 at The Relentless Boardmasters
The Relentless Boardmasters in association with Vans 2009 today saw a very busy day with the finals of the Vans Summer Sessions BMX Mini Ramp Competition, the final of Nuts Bikini competition, the qualifying rounds of the Vans Summers Sessions Vert skate event and the first rounds of the Relentless Aerial Assault.
The Vans Summer Sessions BMX mini ramp comp took place in the trade village, to a packed crowd, featuring the best in British BMX. In the end the Vans Summer Sessions title went to Ben Wallace followed by Martin Cooper and Jason Phelan.
The Nuts Bikini Final took place in front of thousands of bikini fans bringing the entire beach to a standstill as 12 beautiful ladies strutted their stuff in an effort to win the modelling contract.
The Relentless Aerial Assault got through its first round today with some incredible progressive and technical surfing. Taking part were surfers such as yesterdays winner Dan Ross, aerial freak Matt Wilkinson and Brits such as Alan Stokes and Relentless team riders Jaycee Robinson and Micah Lester. The final takes place tomorrow.
The Vans Summer Sessions Vert Skate qualifiers are taking place at time of writing with favourites including US rider Alex Perelson and new school British Hopes Sam Bosworth and Sam Beckett. The finals take place at 4pm tomorrow.
The Relentless Boardmasters in association with Vans music festival kicked off yesterday at its spectacular Watergate Bay cliff top location. Crowds spent the afternoon bathed in sunshine as they were treated to a huge line up of top acts over 4 stages.
As the sun set over the panoramic Watergate Bay crowds gathered at the main stage to see main acts Roots Manuva, Calvin Harris and headliners The Streets, who were outstanding.
On the Relentless stage Kissy Sell Out headlined keeping the crowds partying until the end.
The Relentless Boardmasters in association with Vans Music Festival re-started for day two at its stunning Watergate Bay cliff top home. Tonight sees huge acts Cypress Hill and Pendulum headlining. The festival, now in its fifth year goes from strength to strength delivering some of the World's biggest artists across 4 stages over 2 days. The 7th-8th August will witness the most complete Relentless Boardmasters in association with Vans music festival to date cementing the event as the UK's premier surf, skate and music festival.
