The final saw current WQS leader Dan Ross (Aus) coming up against Txabr Renobales Trojaola (EUK) to a huge crowd lining the shore. Dan Ross dominated throughout with Trojaola needing a combination of two scores to get ahead of the Australian. The Trade Village was blessed with sunshine yet again with huge numbers of people taking advantage of all the fashion shops, in particular the Lynx Mud pit with the Lynx ladies getting fighting it out in the mud with members of the public refereeing.
In the village the B group Vans Summer Sessions vert finals took place with an awesome win for Oakley Liddell followed by Stuart Sinclair and Nick Hanson. The pros start tomorrow at midday. Elsewhere in the village the BMX qualifiers took place with Ben Wallace qualifying first.
As the sun started to set over Fistral beach last night, the first of last nights acts best described as a 'beat boxing Jack Johnson', Max Tuohy. The new and emerging singer songwriter played to a chilled out crowd.
Ben Howard, who recently won the Red Stripe Music Awards, wowed the crowd with his sultry folk tones. His acoustic set showcased his talent, with his percussive skills stunning the audience and setting the crowd up for Pete Murray. Howard is definitely one to watch.
Even though the headliner of the night, Pete Murray's music is a mellow combination of storytelling and acoustic tones, Murray sent the audience into overload. It was Murray's first visit to the South West and he definitely looked at home, with the crowd singing along to his songs, old and new.
The beach sessions will continue on Sunday night with the Sneaky Sound System and Jelly Jazz.
