Surfing starts after move from Bells
THE Rip Curl Pro World Championship Tour event will finally get underway this morning after being moved from Victoria's Bells Beach to Phillip Island.
The action was put off for eight days after suitable surf conditions failed to arrive at Bells Beach.
The opening heats, which will be surfed in excellent 1-1.5 metre waves at Woolamai Beach, feature the Gold Coast's Dean Morrison against Brazilian duo Peterson Rosa and Raoni Monteiro, NSW's Toby Martin versus Hawaiian rookie Fred Patacchia and Florida's world No.9 Damien Hobgood, and three-time Rip Curl Pro winner Sunny Garcia of Hawaii against Victorian Troy Brooks and Florida's Shea Lopez.
