Quiksilver UKPST Surfing Triple Crown
The Quiksilver UKPST Triple Crown starts at Longsands Beach, Tynemouth with the first event in the three leg series; Quiksilver North East Open and for the Women the Roxy Women's North East Open. This event is also part of the new Extreme Sports Festival which is set to include Skateboarding, Snowboarding, Live Music plus many other activities to draw in the thousands of spectators expected to flock to the beach that weekend.
The second stop of the tour; Quiksilver Scottish Open and the Roxy Women's Scottish Open will be held at the legendary Scottish Reef brake Thurso East at a prime time to catch the massive northerly swells that hit the Caithness coastline.
Stop three is a return to Portrush in Ireland, for the Quiksilver Irish Open and Roxy Women's Irish Open. At last years event we experienced some of the best waves on the tour and some of the best hospitality.
UK Pro Surf Tour Director Dave Reed said "This is fantastic news for the tour and the surfers that compete on it, to have the worlds biggest surf brand in men's and women's surfing sponsoring these events and supporting the growth of the sport in these regions will have a long lasting effect helping the development of the sport in the UK and Ireland".
Former European Pro Surf Champion and Quiksilver Surf Team manager Spencer Hargraves said "I very happy to be involved with Quiksilver in supporting The UK Pro Tour and also running these three events in some of the best waves in Britain and Europe. It will be great to see the best British surfers fighting it out in fantastic conditions for the Triple Crown and to find out who will be this years Quiksilver Triple Crown UK Pro Champion".
The Relentless Money Move will also provide financial rewards for some of the best manoeuvres we see during the three legs of the Quiksilver UKPST Surfing Triple Crown
