Billabong Storms the NSSA Western Championships
Huntington Beach, CA. – Billabong stormed into the Western Division finals of the NSSA this weekend capturing titles in both the Men’s and Women’s divisions.
A fun SW swell started the contest off right as Kolohe Andino swept both the Open Men’s and Junior Divisions, and Dane Zaun stomped a solid ‘air reverse’ to take the Air Show title.
With 85 degree air and 65 degree water Huntington Beach a great venue for this years contest, where Billabong Girls showed their dominance as well. Fifteen-year-old Courtney Conlogue from Santa Ana won the Open Women’s Southwest Conference for the 4th year in a row breaking the current record held by Holly Beck. She also won Open Women’s at Westerns this weekend. Catherine Clark, 14, from Ventura made two finals - Explorer Girls and Open Women, placing 2nd in Explorer Girls and 4th in Open Women. And Taylor Pitz, 15, from Laguna Beach, placed 4th in Explorer Women.
