Diego Naranjo Marries Long Time Girlfriend, Pro Surfer Lisbeth Vindas

After a long engagement Diego Naranjo married pro surfer Lisbeth Vindas. Along with a bunch of friends, the newlyweds traveled to Nicaragua in search for waves. Mr. Naranjo will be competing in Brazil the second weekend of July on the fifth stage of the ALAS Latin Tour.

Last weekend Diego Naranjo got married with his long time girlfriend, pro surfer Lisbeth Vindas, and after the wedding the happy couple traveled to Nicaragua to make a surf trip that will be published on the next edition of OLAS Latin America magazine.

Along with Mr. And Mrs. Naranjo, Magnum Martínez (Venezuela), Otto Flores (Puerto Rico), Kalle Carranza (Mexico) and Gary Saavedra (Panama) also traveled to Nicaragua right after the wedding ceremony. The purpose of the journey was to organize some surf clinics for the local surfers, and to deal with different aspects of competitive surfing with them.

“I’m very happy with this new stage of my life and I’m really grateful for being able of enjoying it with my friends. I’m pretty sure that we are going to have a great time in Nicaragua, it’s a country with great waves and people have always been nice to us”, said enthusiastically Diego Naranjo to Surfpress on a telephone conversation.

TOWARDS BRAZIL FOR THE FIFTH STAGE OF THE ALAS LATIN TOUR

During the second weekend of July the fifth stage of the ALAS Latin Tour will take place. The “Rio Latin Pro Surf 2007” will be the first event the Latin American Surf Association will organize in the bossa nova’s country. The competition will have the Prahina’s waves (Rio de Janeiro) as the scenario. Diego Naranjo will assist the event and will try to do the best for his country in one of the most important dates on the way to the Latin Championship 2007.

“Since the last stage in Montañita (Ecuador), I’ve been training hard and my last National title has given me energy to focus on the ALAS. I want to achieve the highest position I can and to give a great satisfaction to my country”, said Diego Naranjo to Surfpress.

Diego Naranjo is now on the eleventh position of the Latin ranking with 12,000 points. Class and style are the main characteristics of the Tico, his surfing is varied and he is also an experimented competitor.
