Women in the Waves 21st Birthday Celebrations
 Central Coast (NSW) Women in the Waves is 21 years old this year and still producing rippers - Rebecca Woods (WCT 07), Amee Donohoe (WCT 07), Sandra English (recent World Masters Champ), up'n'comers Penny Winter (aged 16), Lulu Han (13).
WITH are challenging other women's only, boardriding clubs to see if they are the longest continuously-running club in Australia if not the world.
The club is also inviting all its former members and supporters to a huge 21st birthday party on Saturday 12 May (details: ph 0439465441). This party will be the highlight of the year, with a reunion of 21 years’ worth of members and supporters, with their stories, DVDs, photos, trophies, old T shirts and displays by the club’s sponsors. A special decoration will be stories written by current members about what surfing with Women in the Waves means to them.
Continuing events during the year are the annual trade-your-surf-equipment day, regular newsletters, annual club photo and a generous presentation night in mid November.
The club is looking for other long-running women’s boardriding clubs around the world, to respond to our challenge: we think we’re the longest-running, continually-operating, women’s only boardriding club in Australia, if not the world. Any takers?
