Gary Saavedra Spreads His Wings in Peru
Last weekend, the best Latin American surfers flew over the Peruvian waves; the most skilled athletes were invited for the Red Bull Tow at Air Show. Panama couldn’t miss the event, this way Mr. Gary Saavedra showed his talent and obtained the second place at the Tow at Air Show.
The competition took place in “Las Palmas de Asia” Beach and the winner was local Matías Mulanovich, followed by Gary Saavedra and Javier Swayne in the second and third place respectively.
Saavedra is known by his versatiliy and was very happy, after the event ended he said: “I’m very happy. I participated in this event to have fun, I´m glad that I made it to the final and that I could show some good maneuvers in a different kind of contest. The surfing level was high and I had to compete against the best Latin American surfers
GOOD PERFORMANCE IN PUNTA ROCAS
A week before that, in the Reef Classic Latin Pro Peru at Punta Rocas, the twelve times Panamanian Champ, got the ninth position in one of the most competitive events of the Latin Tour history.
Talking about that, he said to Surfpress: “Peru´s competition was very hard and even though I would have liked to obtain a better position for the ratings, I’m satisfied with my performance and my level of surfing. This just started and I think I will become more confident as the tour goes on.
The next stop of the ALAS tour will be at Montañitas (Ecuador), where a new Reef Classic will be carried on and Gary Saavedra will be there.
