First Ever Live Broadcast Of Surfing In Europe
British surf legend Lee Bartlett will be joining Steve Absalom to commentate on the first ever live broadcast of surfing in Europe, as British Eurosport 2 shows the Rip Curl Pro WQS Series event from Hossegor in France this week.
Bartlett has held the British surfing title more times than any other UK surfer and became the first surfer to win the British Professional Surfing Tour in 2001.
The Rip Curl Pro Series is the highlight of the world surfing tour and the only Super Series event on the ASP professional tour, the sport’s international governing body. The competition, which is a stage of the 2006 World Championships, will showcase some of the worlds' greatest young surfers and produce a stunning viewing experience. The show will also provide a rare opportunity to see talented British surfer Russell Winter in action as he takes on the world’s best.
Hosted by JP Mothes, of Eurosport’s extreme sport show Yoz, the live surfing will be broadcast across Europe on Friday August 25th from 9.30am – 11.00am.
British Eurosport 2 is available in the UK on Sky channel 411, NTL channel 811 and Telewest Channel 525.
