BIARRITZ, France (Monday, July 3, 2006) - The first two rounds of the Roxy ASP Women's World Longboard Championship (WWLC) will be held today at Côte des Basques, Biarritz, on France's Southwest coast.

This inaugural Roxy ASP WWLC will crown the first-ever ASP Women's Longboarding World Champion.  More than 60 competitors, hailing from 10 different countries, will contest the half to one meter (two to three foot) waves this afternoon.

Surfers competing today will represent the USA, Australia, France, Japan, Brazil, Great Britain, Hawaii, Spain, Reunion Island, Holland and South Africa.
