He's also the man behind the new Surfing GB CPD (continued professional development) surf coaching workshops. The course consists of an 8 hour surfing strength and conditioning workshop. The course has been specifically designed to enhance even the most experienced surf coaches CV.

Sports specific training or functional training can play a major role in surfing performance at any level; from a well seeded pro surfer, to a land locked weekend surfer.
Practical surf fitness instruction
During the course the surf coach will gain the practical skills for teaching surfers various exercise types that will enhance a surfer’s fitness and performance.
Warming up and cooling down procedures
Warming up and cooling down can play a major role in surfing not only for performance surfers and competition but for all surfers
Understanding core strength training
The CORE plays a major role in all sporting movements, surfing is no different, and during the workshop the surf coach will learn the importance of core strength training for performance and for all surfers.

The Swiss ball is well know within the global surfing community, it’s highly versatile and can be transported easily.
The uses run far and wide, from core strength training to surfing flexibility sessions, many surfers use them on a regular basis to boost their surfing performance.
