Tavistock College Surf Academy secures Billabong sponsorship
Tavistock College Surf Academy has secured a sponsorship deal with a leading surf brand to kit out team members in first-rate gear.
The Billabong shop in Plymouth is providing the young surfers with amazing discounted deals on current stock and giving the team certain lines of billabong t-shirts and billabong hoodies at close to cost price.
Academy instructor Dan Kinsman said: "The sponsorship deal means members of the surf team will get a lovely discount in the shop which sells everything surfing related from clothes and DVDs to wetsuits and wicked deals on surfboards. The students are all super excited."
The large surf shop in Drake Circus has formed a partnership with the academy and all the events it runs in the local community including beach clean-ups and training sessions.
Kate Gale, store manager, said: "Billabong was founded by surfers and has a proud history of supporting the sport at grassroots level. We're very pleased to be associated with the Tavistock College Surf Academy and the excellent environmental work the students do in the community."
Academy instructor Pete Keegan said the sponsorship deal was fantastic news.
"The Billabong staff have even offered to talk to sister company Xcel to try to put together a package for our students," he continued. "They make great wetsuits which are ethical and made from limestone and bamboo."
Tavistock College Surf Academy is also supported by Fat Face and Circle One.
