Billabong Pro J-Bay Round 1 Complete
The Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay 2005 started this morning with the top four VZ wildcard qualifiers joining the top 44 World Championship Tour seeds. Round 1 of the main event has been completed
The following winners of the Round One heats advanced directly to Round Three, with second and third placed surfers surfing again in Round Two: Winners advancing are Tim Reyes, Mick Lowe, Nathan Hedge, Taj Burrow, Mick Fanning, Jake Paterson, Bernardo Pigmeu, Kelly Slater, Andy Irons, Joel Parkinson, Luke Stedman, Dannyl Wills, Greg Emslie, Fred Patacchia, Lee Winkler and Bede Durbidge.
The Billabong Pro is the sixth of 12 contests on the world championship tour to determine the world surfing champion. Its prize money totals R1.8 million. Four days of surfing are required to complete the competition.
