Nintendo Teams Up With Rip Curl
Nintendo has signed on to be the presenting sponsor of Rip Curl GromSearch 2005 in the United States. GromSearch 2005 is an international surfing competition featuring top 6-16 year-old surfers, known as "grommets." Nintendo has also solved the summertime dilemma of whether to surf or to game, by bringing surfing and gaming together at GromSearch events across the United States.
At each GromSearch 2005 event, groms will be buffed out with Nintendo prizes, including the summer’s hottest GBA titles like WarioWare Twisted!, and Mario Golf: Advance Tour. Plus, each event will name one grom as the winner of the Nintendo Wave of the Day award, which honors each day's best overall ride.
The Rip Curl GromSearch 2005 will be visiting eight U.S. beaches, including one in Puerto Rico, one in Hawaii, three in California, and three on the east coast. The finals will take place November 5th at Salt Creek Beach in California. Original article by: Matt Saunderson
