NSP Boards Like or Hate

I have noticed a lot of people buying NSP boards and I would hate to rag on a brand but I don't like them because of three main reason: A. They are cheap chinese popouts. B. They are made by underpaid workers who work in dangerous conditions. I don't want to support that. and C. They are all-around bad boards. I have experience on an NSP board as I started out on one as a grom but it got thrashed and snapped in one season. I don't support anyone buying them and I never will. I just wanted to get everyones opinions on them.

Hurricane that's is a fairly realistic set of opinions.
I would suggest that there is also quite a lot of boards that appear on mass on sites like ebay, Craigslist and others where you see hundreds of brightly coloured new boards at very cheap prices. they are popped out and brought into the country by the container load often by one hit smart named "surf companies" and sometimes by established quality brand names from factories that are even worse than the NSP factory.

BTW some of the overseas ( read Asian) factories are top notch and can be better than some local factories for worker welfare.
Who, what,whom or how investigate before you buy.
Let the buyer beware and aware and make their choices accordingly.

The thing behind it all is how is the absolute beginner even going to know what is what and if they are just coming to a surf destination to have a one hit surf experience, how many of the pop out companies care beyond the sale and the quick dollar$$$$$$$$$$$.
In fact how many one hit wonders are worried about the long term quality of their board.
Hand in hand these two factors cash up the pop out industry.

A part from the board itself, I wonder why people talk about ethic factories in asia only about boards, and not when they buy their new smartphone, laptop, snickers, t-shirt, watch.. and so on..

Agree with Hurricane and Jaffa. But pop out boards are here to stay. They're cheap and durable and for most beginers who dont understand flex, volume, etc they are a much easier buy. Good news is that no one is happy on a pop out board for long. The PU surfboard isn't going anywhere, and as any surfer progresses they inevitably get curious about other boards. NSP isn't going anywhere, but they wont take over surfing either.
