How can I get my grandmother off my back and let me surf?

I am having a real hard time with my grandmother right now, she doesn't want me surfing without supervision (aka my grandfather), so now everytime I surf my grandfather has to watch me surf, which frankly is a pain in the ass. My sessions are always cut short, and I can never have a chat with my friends after the surf, plus it is embarrising, pllus I feel weard being watched all the time, I just want to surf, and this is bringing conflict, because my grandfather doesn't want to sit there for hours (duh) and my grandmother thinks I am going to drown (wtf), so, how can I get them off my back and give me some independance?

^ Sucks when your parents think of you as "the little baby they brought home" Common, why can't they think of me as someone who actually can think for himself, sheesh, oh and Dr. Rev, that will happen eventually, but what am I supposed to do in the meantime?

I wish they will see me for who I am, and listen, I'm telling you, if they say that because they are older they know more than I do why can't either of them even swim? And why are both of them scared of the water? (my grandmother doesn't even want to swim in a swimmingpool or go on a ship.)
Maturity means being able to reason without fear controlling your thoughts, meaning they are immature, even though they are old.

Your grandmother not letting you out to play without supervision be it surfing or playing with your barbie dolls is hardly a topic about surfing.

It's not about surfing - it's about you being a kid and your guardians obviously wanting to keep an eye on you - which is fair enough, but not really the topic for debate on a forum.

Not all life's answers can be found on the internet and sometimes part of growing up is being able to figure them out for yourself.

The fact that you have to ask on here is perhaps precisely WHY you can't be left on your own...........and getting all smart mouthed prior to puberty kicking in won't get you any extra points either and is another example of why you need supervision

Tried that, he never takes the shots in time, by the time he takes a shot the wave is over.

Dude, I am 14 (15 in a few months), not 10, besides, there is 10 year olds who can surf without there parents looking at them all the time, I tried talking to them but they won't listen at all, it is an issue that I have had problems with for some time, and no matter what I say they will not sit for 5 minutes and listen, sometimes I just want to get some advice, but it seems people just don't listen at all, they just judge, al I want is to have a good time without being followed or watched all the time.

Overprotective parents suck, but I must say the fact that I lived at my mothers for 2 1/2 years had a effect to, the didn't see me grow from a immature 12 year old to a mature(ish) 14 year old, and I am living here again for like 7 months now, and my grandmother (the one that actually is the pain, my grandfather is cool, he just is a suckup.) is at work 90% of the time and she doesn't see me for who I am, plus the number 15 doesn't give a accurate description of my maturity, countless people say (after they know me for a while) that I am unusually profound for my age, and sadly my grandmother doesn't listen to enough, it is like everything I say to her slips from one ear and goes out at the other, she doesn't register anything I say, and when she gets me to the point of crying (lets admit it, truly mature people shows there feelings and doesn't keep it bottled up) she just says "stop whyning". I jsut wish she would listen to me.

i never had trouble with parents not letting me surf. it was either surf or being out on tha pi$$ until about 6am and then being in bed all day...although i have surfed after fairly drunken nights just not so late. always had to get up at like 5-6am to surf because dad wasn't the type to sit at the beach in freezing cold so he just took a sleeping bag and fell asleep while i surfed...great.
