Cost of surf?

Cost of surf?

Postby tomato3000 » Mon Dec 17, 2007 12:30 pm

I was wondering how much it costs other people to surf.

For me it's a pretty long way and can't often get people to car share so I think it costs ~ £50.

Petrol is £35
Toll bridge to get into Wales (gits!) £5
Car park, food and hot drinks £10

Obviously surfing is priceless but I can't be doing this everyday!

About $ 4 in gas. Not to bad figuring I only get 12 mpg in my truck. Now if you want to factor in what I pay to live close to the beach that is a whole different much more costly calculation.

Well I can walk to my local spot so I guess it just costs me a bit of sweat.

About $1 in diesel, and a 10 second stroll to the window to have a look and see what's going on.

But the mortgage on having that view costs me about $2k a month

Do you have roomates Hang? I am looking for a place for me and a few friends to rent that is close to the coast so we can walk to the surf. $500 a month each would not be to bad for rent.

I have a rather tidy apartment above my garage that I rent out, got a rather cute 19 year old Canadian girl in there right now 8)

But, I'm on the south island, not exactly the warmest bit of NZ.

tomato,
I'm like you. I've got to drive from 1 to 2 hours depending on which beach I go to. The figures are about the same, too, however the units are in US dollar rather than pounds.
