sorry it's been a while...

just wanted to drop by and say hi to everyone :D i've had alot going on these last few months so haven't really had time for the net. Looking at some of the posts it seems we have loads of new'uns so welcome to you all!

I'm walking round the house in a bikini, drinking gallons of pineapple juice and listening to Hawaiian music in an attempt to cheer myself up. Now the heating's turned up high, it almost feels like I'm back there (well, if I close my eyes). Haven't finalised any plans yet.

Hope everyone's doing ok :D

If you get a chance check out kaparadio.com it's a radio station based out of the big island, playing hawaiian music. They also have some interesting DJS-the boloheads & kahekine (don't know if I spelled it correctly) they are sooo funny. Only problem is the time difference as they might be on in the middle of the night out your way.

i've sunk into a deep depression since getting back :( it's been such a culture shock & so difficult to just get on with my old life again (well, impossible to be honest). Stuff happened in Hawaii which has changed things for me forever and I need some time to really think about it.

At the moment, I'm thinking of going back for a few months to see if I still feel the same, but at the same time I'm not sure whether I should gamble everything i've worked so hard for, in case things don't work out over there. It's not something I'm going to rush into...

I'm working hard & saving everything so I can afford a plane ticket back!

Boy, sounds rough. It's hard when everything you know comes into question. Your life must be in turmoil right now.

For what it's worth I hope things work out for you whatever you do.

ps. Live the dream!

thaya you know it will be different when you live here and work full time, dont you? when you were here you were surrounded by the tourist industry of waikiki.

hey everyone. just a quick note to say hi again. I've been moving house so haven't had net access for a while. still living in roughly the same area. glad i'm all settled again.

hardly been able to save up any money for a plane ticket back to hawaii, but have made some decisions (finally   )

I'm going to spend 2 months there in 2008 (assuming I can save enough for the plane ticket... it might take a while after the cost of moving house again  ) and then make a final decision about whether to move there permanently. I've already been offered a job and a place to stay on Oahu :D It's very basic, but it'll do me fine.

I long for clean, green, glassy waves and warm water. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Surfing was so much easier over there without constant onshore gale force winds like it seems to be round here! Plus, I made a few good friends out there and chatting online to them each night just isn't good enough... I need to be there again!

I did an assembly last week at work in front of the whole school entitled "don't let your dreams be dreams". I did a powerpoint with some cool tunes and talked about my experience over there, then showed 450/500 kids the DVD of me jumping out of a plane! Apparently it's the best assembly they've ever had and they all want to go to hawaii, learn to surf, visit an active volcano, and go skydiving... It's nice to think I've inspired some of them, but I do wonder what their parents are going to say about it

So, basically, hello again to everyone again! As soon as there is some swell down this way you've got to come and visit!

thaya are you sure you want to curse your future offspring by making them american? dont you know how screwed up it is here, and how more screwed up its going to get??? the dollar just went down like another 10%, no health insurance, national debt. no offence thaya, but moving here now would be stupid.

As opposed to a collapsing, over stressed public health system, a currency everyone is trying to get us to lose and a huge national debt owed to America...

Hope you're feeling better and the healing process doesn't take too long. Are you having some sort of anaphylactic reaction to your meds or do you have a lot of serious allergies?

I also hope you find your way back to HI. You seem to have a love and respect for Hawaii that I wish all visitors and residents would have for this paradise. Have you had the opportunity to visit and surf on the neighbor islands, Hawaii, Maui, and Kauai?
