Even though I dont surf ("yet") I work for a store that sells surf company clothing so the answer is yes, mainly because I get a huge discount on it.

I wear surf stuff a lot around the house, because I tend to slob around in comfy t-shirts and jogging pants or boardies.

I wear the 'less obvious' stuff when I'm out (ie not the names you now find on the high street) as I don't want to look like a wannabee.

On the odd occasion where 'dressing up' is called for, I tend to lower the tone as best I can by wearing a loud (ish) shirt - keeps me amused

I tend to steer clear of 'surf brand' clothing altogether on surf trips - apart from the old scruffy sweatshirts that I just like wearing, even though they're falling apart.........

I'll wear clothes I like. I've never bought an item of clothing because of the brand it is... Theres the occasional shirt I've picked up going cheap, or been given,but other than that, I tend to avoid brands.

I've put all the time because i own and run a surf shop i have to wear the clothes, no good me turning up in Nike or Reeboks.

However i do sleep naked so its not actually 100%, only 100% when clothed. Oh and my pants and socks are bought by my mum so are not "surf branded" so perhaps i could go less than 100%.

Blue jeans, cloth shorts, surf T shirts. Usually with a board logo on the back, hate pics, etc. on the front... so east coast...
Flip flops or slaps, board shorts at the beach (Birdwell's). Won't touch the pop brand name stuff, Quicksilver, Billabong, etc. Generally pretty low key. If I'm not in flops I'm wearing my Wolverine work boots.

Right now, a pair of SurfersAgainstSewage shorts, some marks&sparks boxers, and a t-shirt of vague and unidentifiable heritage (but not surf).

Guess that makes me about 30 and a bit per cent.

I have 3 items of surf brand clothing plus my flip flops and one belt (all bought in sales as I wont pay silly prices!), everything else I wear is all cheap stuff/ unknown makes.

I buy what I like the look of, or, more usually the case, what I can fit into, as long as it's reasonably priced. I have a surf brand rucksack as well come to think of it, but I got that reduced from £30 to £8 in a sale too! I just wouldn't spend my hard earned cash paying full price for a label/ brand when you can get something similar for less than half the price. If I see something I really really want, I wait a few more months and most of the time it'll end up on sale.

No but joking apart, over easter we had a big swell running east coast UK, a lot of South West surfers travelled over to try the best reefs in the England, didn't see many of them in owt but surf gear.

the last sentence contradicts the first. i agree with the last. here in hawaii, if you wear shots, t shirt and flip flops, youre wearing whats comfortable, not being a "poser" i wear dress shirts and long pants to school, because i am a poser mod. i wear board shorts and the required t-shirt to work because its hot. neither has anything to do with surf style.

im not gonna pay 120 bucks for a billabong hoodie.

id preffer to spend the cash on petrol for a trip up the coast, or on a big night... more often on the big night ha.

dont get me wrong if quicksilver gear comes my way at christmas i'll wear it for sure, but imo there are more important things to spend my hard earned on.
