my 1st ever surf board !!! wht to do???

Hi thanx 4 having a look @ my topic.
Im hoping to take surfing up as a hobby, and i am really intrested in getting a board im : -
5,8ft
12-13 stn
pritty strong
bin surfin b4
n not rich
but dont have a clue what to get any 1 got any ideas???
i has lookin at getting a second hand board and something smallish for storerige reason's.
WILL SOMEONE PLEASE GET BK 2 ME ON THIS

Sit on the fence and go for something in the mini-mal range of length, they're the most popular for learning on.

A short board might be easier to store, but if you're not surfing all that regularly (I'm guessing the Midlands don't get an awful lot of swell!!) I reckon you'll have more fun and catch more waves on a board that's a bit longer.

Any surf shops round you to go to and ask for a bit of advice? They might also sell some second hand boards.

hey yh i live near birmingham so no i dnt see many waves frm ear but plenty of rain lol wht type of lenght board do u think i should go for thn ???
