A new longboard

Hey
i am looking to get a new longboard but i dont really know what to get. I dont knw weather to get an all round board or a board thats more nose ridie. I also dont know what size to go for. Not anything too big but around 9"3 9"4
if u have any suggestions please share

Depends!?!

What your level of surfing is - I'm assuming beginer to intermediate otherwise I'd asume you'd know what sort of board you want?

Also depends on your size, and the stuff you get to surf on/go out in.

You should be able to find a nice all round longboard that'll turn & noseride at the same time tho it wont be great for any extreem.

I guess it would depend on what type of longboarding (style) you want to be doing...

Well if you're interested in just cruizing, noseriding, long sweeping turns, or progressive high performance, it would/should effect what kind of longboard you would want.

well there are really 3 main types.

1. nose riders, heavy glassed single fin longboards, not that easy to turn but catch waves easy. ideal for triming and nose riding. if you want to surf like they did in the 60's get one of these.

2. all round longboards normaly a 2 +1 fin setup they turn easyer and nose ride but not as well as a nose rider, catch waves realtivly easy, prob the best longboard to get if your just starting out

3 high performance, progresive longboards. these have lots of rocker there alot thiner and come as either a thruster fin setup or a 2 +1, they dont nose ride that well and are suited for bigger waves.

ohh cheers.. i have been looking at the wingnut 1 or 2 by robert august... any thoughts on those too or any info would b appreciated... i currently ride a 6 8... and a mini mal... but have recently got into the longboarding scene...

As I said on another thread, why not go straight to a shaper and let him/her make you a board based on what you want to do??
