I got the job

Really chuffed, will be down in New Quay in Wales for pretty much the entire summer, some of you had better come and visit!

The only down side is that i probably wont be able to make it to the summer meet :cry:

but this is an oppurtunity i can't miss!

I met up with Jo last week and stayed with her while i was down that was for an interview- shes a star!!

Shes busy with her dissertation at the moment, but i'm sure she will be back as soon as its handed in!

Well done libs! What will you do with all the money now you're fully employed? Maybe a new board is on the cards?

I know the first thing I did after a full time job was buy a board.

Now whats this job all about do you get to sit in the back of tourists cars singing "I can see the sea, I can see the sea, ee i the andyo, i can see the see"

No seriously what are you doing exactly, is it looking out for the wildlife, unexpected arrivals and the like.

Hopefully its going to be a long hot summer and you get to spend it doing something you love.

Watch out for angry, ill-tempered sea lions... I hear they can be quite a nuisance.

Ha ha ha payed work?! I wish! Its a 3-4 month volunteer job so no new boards for me :cry:

Mark - I will be doing lots of things, partly boat based work filling in sighting forms for all the dolphin/basking sharks/ porpoises seen, doing land-based surveys detailing dolphin bahaviour etc etc, partly office based informing BBC, local media etc about whats going on at the centre, training new volunteers, helping with the bottlenose dolphin ID catalogue, a bit of admin stuff in the office, hopefully i'll be able to get involved with applications for grants/funding for the centre too. Whole load of things which i think will keep me very busy!

Its a slog but it'll be worth it Libstar, Doing somthign you actually want to do makes it worth it 10fold. Congrats
