5'1 TOO SHORT!?

Postby Dec » Thu Feb 15, 2007 11:49 am

I've ridden one of those teeny little grommet boards. They are hell! I am waaayyyy to lazy to paddle them! It's like trying to surf a skimboard!

Which brings me to a point--they're good for skimboarding! Just throw an extra layer of glass on the bottom!

I think I'm going to start telling people that I am 7' -13" tall.

My son is 13 and about your size. He can ride a 5'1", but he usually rides a 5'8". A few of his mates also ride 4'11" to 5'1". They have been surfing for a few years. For a beginner on a surfboard I suggest something longer and more stable, but keep the smaller board for later when you will be able to ride it. Persevere, even if all seems hopeless, because riding a board is much more fun than a bodyboard.
