A quick drive down the ooast..

The waves have been so bad that I haven't had much to post, so I took a quick drive down the coast to check out the impending storm, that never hit us. These are a couple from Laguna, a house that shares the corner of the jetty at the Wedge, and HBO was filming a movie down in Huntington.

As ever man, world class photography, good eye for a picture. What's with the dolphin house in the first one?

That's a whaling wall, i think that's what they are called. A wall with a mural done by an artist named Wyland, famous for his large murals of whales along with other ocean creatures. The arena in Long Beach, CA is covered with one of his murals, as well as a building on Oahu and many other walls and buildings throughout the world.

How much did you pay for that camera BrownDogWilson? I would like to get a camera like that to get shots of my friends surfing, does that camera have a far range of zooming?

You could do some of those pics almost as good with a point and shoot camera that costs a few hundred bucks,,,,but for the long distance ones, I have a 300mm lens which is only average at about 700 bucks, and muy camera body is a Canon 30D which runs about 1200 bucks. That is not where it ends though,,,I never post a picture until I have put it through a little PhotoShop touch-ups, size reduction, etc...One of the major things about the quality of a photo is the size of it starts out massive, and when it is reduced all the colors come together a bit more. Most little cameras have a large file size of up to about 2200 x something,,,mine is around 3500x whatever, which would not even be possible to post here because you would not be able to fit the photo into your screen,,,,gotta go to my son's basketball game now,,third one of the day,,,Thanks!
