surfing in sri lanka

Staying on Bentota beach in march, is there any surf here and has anybody surfed it. Is it worth taking my longboard or is there any hire at Club Intersport nearby.

Hi, we are going to Bentota in Feb/March also. And I'm also trying to find out about the surf. Have you found anything out?
From the hotel websites about sports equipment available at club intersport it doesn't look like you can hire a board in the bentota region. Maybe it might be easier to just email the hotel?
