Bigger board, kind of, can i dive deep with it?

hey so im just beginning to learn how to surf, im 17, and i have been using my friends 7'7'' funboard so far and i cant duck dive with that thing and its a bitch gettin out, anyway so now im finally gettin a board of my own, and its a 6'10'', i weigh 170 ish, so i wonderin will i be able to duck dive with that size??, its shortboard style to, not funboard

yep, I use a 6'10" and there's no problem duck diving. Just needs a bit more push than the conventional 6'6"..etc

u could duck dive my 6,10 so i cant see why shouldnt be abel to.

aight thanks guys, but instead of buying my friends 6'10'', i bought his 7'4'' cause its in better condition, and a little easier to ride. ill probably take it out tomorow , or the day after and ill see how it is!

I have a 7"4 as well, funny thing is I cant duck dive with it either since maybe since I dont weigh so much . Anyways I want to start duck diving since turtle rolling seems to take to long and requires a lot of time and energy.

yah i just got my 7'4'' and ive taken it out about three times now, and im actually pretty happy. It easier to ride cause its bigger, but not to big. And i can duck dive with it, well not very good anyway. I still need to get the actual technique down better, but i can get the board underwater, and about 50 percent of the time get past the wave without gettin pushed back to the beach. so ill just keep practcing untill i get it 100 percent down.
