Surf Koh Samui???

Hey, I need some help.

I am going on a road trip with some mates to koh samui and then flying to japan In march/april. Is there any chance of catching some waves in koh samui? Also, in japan is there any areas that are recommended. I am gunna check out the wave house there, but any real wave spots??

Koh Samui is as flat as a pancake... sorry. Try Phuket if you really want to surf, it's the other side of the country but it's the only place in Thailand with anything resembling swell

Well, I am living in phuket at the moment, but I heard stuff wont kick off until at least may, because the seaon was late.
