wax in wetsuit?

hey yall,

i wear off wax really quick, so whenever i wear board shorts, i usually just throw a block of wax in the pocket and wax up between sets instead of coming back in. but with my wetsuit, it doesnt have an external pockets, so im stuck paddling back in.

what do yall do with your wax when your wearing a wettie? i usually dont get much time in the wettie season anyways, so the problem usually doesnt occur.

use basecoat if you don't...and then use a harder than normal wax over that, then your normal wax.

if it's a spring suit, stick a thin flexible wax comb under your suit behind one of you legs, so you can pull it out and rough your wax up as necessary...

and don't try and sit on your wax where your front foot's guna go when you stand (took me forever to figure out that's where my wax kept going)

I often wear out my wax so I put a small bit up my sleeve. I haven't worked out why I wear out the wax as it only happens some of the time

. I think here on this coast the cley sedement suspended in the water gets worse on some days or there can be an extra oiliness to the water...

thats weird...i just wax up my board and i stay out there for like 5 hours and my stick never gets slick

I find sexwax the best one... and mrs. palmers the worst...

I think this thread proves we all have our unique way of rubbing off our own wax and you need to find what works for you! :wink:

I always find theres a patch just by the tailpad that I rub clean as I pop up... and then I try to pop up and slide straight off :shock:

yea, i think im gonna switch. im using sticky bumps right now, which i like the feel when its on(and love the smell) but it just wears out quick. do yall think that it could be related to having old wax, or wax that has been exposed to water for too long? i do tend to have a whole bunch of little old chunks im trying to salvage

sex wax sucks in warm water, it hurts your stomach, but sometimes it'll do better than palmers in cold water...

cuff of your sleeve or ankle should work. i have done that before. has to be small though, like a half bar or something, its a little uncomfortable, but works.

That'll be why I get on with SW but not palmers then. Damned cold water! :wink:

And the stomach thing isnt so relevant when all year your stuck under 3, 5, more mm of neoprene :roll:
