What is your ultimate surfing destination?

Yo,....its a guns blaing fight to find the "surfing waves" ultimate surf destination?!

Whats that i hear Surf Patrol? The winning destination? A trip for all members there for 2 weeks on you? Who can argue with that....

I'm sure Croyde is great (althougfh i've never surfed there) but Hawaii has to get my vote for the sheer volume of great waves that are on offer.

Mate do your eckon hawaii would be a scary place for beginners to surf. I think if i went there, to get the full enjoyment from it i'd like to be a competent/intermediate ability surfer.

What do you reckon? Give it a go anyway?

no not on personal experience. I dont have anywhere near the cash to get to hawaii or the skill to surf pipeline or sunset but i'd love to go n have a go. There are begginners spots as well for example Waikiki. It would be pretty scary to sur fthe big waves they get in Hawaii but fun, i guess.

but its just so crowded in all the big places. i dont wanna be responsible for ruiening some one elses ride let alone hurtin them, and on some of those big waves a simple getting in teh way could cause big problems.

I would love to go to Hawaii, but for me there are better places to go - with the standard of my surfing I don't think Hawaii would get the best out of a surf trip.
I have been to Croyde and Australia and New Zealand ( I think both the Aussies and the Kiwis will be outraged about putting the two together) and france so it would now have to be a choice between Switzerland and California (where I have been but did not surf) Does surfing the slopes count? I have had a go at snowboarding and it was great fun.

Nah mate, should i have?! What is Saint Hill? The only hills i know about near me are Leith Hill, Holmbury Hill, and Denne Hill, since they all have dirt jumps on them...

I'd have to say Hawaii, but I don't mean the North Shore! that'd be way to scary.

I'd love to try some of the smaller beach breaks though.

I'd like to go to all the places on the list. I have to say though that I don't really rate Croyde that highly.

It's a good break, but it does get very crowded and there aren't that many peaks. For me the best place in the country is Sennen Cove near land's end. Long waves, easy paddle out, crystal clear water- dolphins in the water - that's where I had my best ever session!

I'm sure there's some good river surfing in Switzerland!
