Rusty 6'9 Pintail

Hey all, was just curious if this type of board would be decent in smaller waves? I know it was built for bigger waves, but I'll be surfing in Va. Beach and the waves are generally only about 4-5ft. for the most part. Thanks!

What are the dimensions of the board? It sounds like a semi gun and if it is then no, it wont be good on little mushy waves.

you should look at the Channel Islands Flyer. im buildin my self one right now to surf at va beach. a fish surfboard might also be worth lookin at for the mushy days, but just remember, the less the width, the harder it will to catch waves. the lower the rocker, the faster the board.

it wont be good on little mushy waves.

4-5 ft isn't little and mushy :roll:

4-5 at va beach is a great day. its usually 1-2 ankle to knee, mushy, windswells, disorganized through out the summer. then it finnaly gives us some relief during hurricanes and winter, and shapes up to 2-3 mushy... hey, its still waves!

i surf nh in new england, i know what waiting for hurricane swell is like.

pray katrina comes and gives us some nice swell

I didnt see the 4-5 ft part, but yea, it could still be mushy, you can have a 10 foot wave and it could still be mushy..And also, you dont need a semi gun for a 4-5 foot wave anyways..

Cool cool, I'll definitely take a look. The problem I have really is that I can't afford to go out and spend $400 on a decent board. I just got a new apt. and money is going to be tight for a while, so I'm looking at the used boards I can afford. The 6'9 Rusty surfboard seemed to be at a good price too. I'm still talking to the guy who owns it about getting it. (He cancled the auction due to the shipping calculator not coming out correct). See below for the dimensions of the board
