NEw board

I'm 5 foot 9 and got addicted to surfing when i went in california with some friends. I'm not sure what to get and no one really gives me a straight answer. Someone i know is selling a 7'2" funboard. Could this be the right board to start out on. Would appreciate the help.

It sounds pretty good from a size point of view, what kind of condition is it in and how much does he want for it?
